Thai cuisine is wonderfully varied, full of interesting textures and flavours. It combines the best aspects of a number of Oriental cuisines, including the exotic flavor of Malaysia, the tang of Szechuan Chinese, the coconut sauces of Southern India and the aromatic spices of the Middle East.

Despite this combination, it has a distinctive character of its own and it's also a healthy and nutritious style of cooking, because the Thais use the best of fresh ingredients. What gives Thai food its distinctive flavor is the use of herbs and spices such as coriander plants, basil, mint and lemon grass, garlic, chillies, citrus leaves and coconut milk.
